Kindle Oasis 2

  •   The second gen Oasis is and it’s also the first Kindle to have a 7-inch screen, this is Amazon’s first waterproof Kindle.
  •   It can withstand being submerged in up to 2 meters of water for up to 60 minutes with an IPX8 rating.

Waterfi Kindle Paperwhite

  •   For the past 5 years, Waterfi has been selling Kindle Paperwhites that they waterproof themselves aftermarket.
  •   They come with a 1-year warranty and have an IPX8 rating but Waterfi isn’t even allowed to call it a Kindle on the product page.
  •   The item is pretty expensive which is a drawback; for only $20 more, you can obtain a satisfying Kindle Oasis 2.

Kobo Aura One

  •   With an IPX8 rating, the 7.8-inch Kobo Aura One has HZO Protection
  •   In up to 2 meters of water, making it waterproof for up to 60 minutes. It is also waterproof for the limited Edition 32GB model.

Kobo Aura H2O Edition 2

  •   The latest waterproof e-reader from Kobo is the second generation Kobo Aura H2O.
  •   Like the Aura One, it has an IPX8 rating and it has a smaller 6.8-inch screen.

Kobo Aura H2O

  •   One of the first waterproof e-readers available was the first gen Kobo Aura H2O.
  •   It’s not quite as waterproof as the other models, but it can withstand being submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes and with IP67 certified.

Nook Glowlight Plus

  •   With an IP67 rating, B&N’s previous Nook model was waterproof.
  •   For $79, it’s still available new on Amazon and B&N sells them refurbished making it the cheapest waterproof e-reader available to purchase.

Pocketbook Aqua 2

  •   The Pocketbook Aqua 2 is another choice for a waterproof ebook reader as Pocketbook e-readers aren’t widely available.
  •   It’s not quite as waterproof as some other models but it can handle being dropped into 1 meter of water and it has an IP57 rating.

Tolino Vision 4 HD

  •   Available in parts of Europe but Tolino is a brand that’s not sold in North America.
  •   Available in 6-inch model
  •   It comes with Water Protection by HZO, and at a depth of 1 meter making it waterproof for 30 minutes.

Tolino Epos

  •   Available in 7.8-inch model
  •   It’s waterproof for up to 30 minutes in 1 meter of water and has the same waterproofing as the Vision 4 HD.
